David Meskhi: Along the Line

We are happy to present one of the 2026 winning projects of the Tbilisi Public Art Fund: David Meskhi "Allong the Line".

Soon the streets of Tbilisi will feature the striking photographic works of the renowned photographer David Meskhi displayed on the billboards across the city.

David Meskhi’s photography project focuses on prominent figuresof contemporary Georgian sports and young athletes. Building on the artist's long-standing interest in sport as a cultural and visual phenomenon, the project turns the city itself into an exhibition space. Transforming advertising infrastructure into an artistic medium, the work explores the interaction between sport, art, and the urban environment, creating a new experience for the casual passerby and offering a different aesthetic perspective on the perception of sport. 

David Meskhi is a Georgian photographer whose practice moves between documentary and conceptual photography. His works explore sports, youth culture, collective identity, and the social reality of post-Soviet Georgia, with a particular focus on the interrelationships of body, movement, and space.
