Georgian Modernism: Form, Rhythm and Color on Ceramics

= More info =

Within the framework of the educational program of the Tbilisi Public Art Fund, a workshop will be held for public school students, which will be dedicated to the study of the visual aesthetics of Georgian Modernism and its revival on ceramics. The goal of the meeting is for students to discover the artistic principles by which the Georgian avant-garde of the early twentieth century combined European experience and local traditions.

The central topic of the discussion will be the work of David Kakabadze as an example of the synthesis of form and color. Special attention will be paid to how individual graphic elements - line, texture and rhythm - are used to create new decorative compositions.

During the practical part, students will directly experience this visual language in the process of work: inspired by David Kakabadze's motifs, they will transfer their own sketches onto ceramic objects. The workshop will be led by the creative team of the social enterprise “Babale”, which will help students turn historical heritage into modern, handmade items.

Workshop duration: 1 hour or 1:30

Age of participants: The workshop is designed for adolescents aged 13 to 18.

Number of participants: The workshop is designed for 15 students
