Meeting with British Artist Martin Creed at the Cinema House and Screening of His Film 'Work in Progress' (2025).

A meeting with the British artist Martin Creed and a screening of his film Work in Progress (2025) took place at the Cinema House. The presented work is Martin Creed’s first feature-length film. In this project, the artist turns his gaze inward, sharing personal stories and memories, and through this highly personal approach, reflects on the experience of human formation as an individual. After the screening, a discussion was held focusing on the film’s production process, sources of inspiration, and plans for future development.

Martin Creed (b. 1968) is a British artist and musician, and the prestigious Turner Prize laureate of 2001. His work is distinguished by a unique style, full of humor and exceptional sensitivity. Whether in sculpture, neon installations, music, or performance, Creed’s work offers a philosophical reinterpretation of everyday experiences. Through simple gestures, he encourages us to observe the world more closely, reminding us that even the smallest details can carry special significance. Among his notable works are Work No. 227: The Lights Going On and Off, which brought him international recognition in 2001; the public intervention The Scotsman Steps; and the neon installation Everything Is Going to Be Alright. In 2012, for the Olympic Games, Creed created an installation that installed bells across the UK, ringing synchronously and creating a collective celebratory atmosphere.
