The poet and musician Erekle Deisadze held a series of author lectures titled "Georgian Poetry Revisited" for 9th and 10th grade students from both public and private schools in Tbilisi.
"Georgian Poetry Revisited" focuses on the works of 20th-century Georgian poets and aims to enhance students’ literary skills while offering a new perspective on the standard school curriculum.

In the second half of the 20th century, a new wave of Georgian poets emerged — such as Ana Kalandadze, Mukhran Machavariani, Murman Lebanidze, and others — who brought fresh themes, forms, and meanings into poetry. Like society itself, poetry also undergoes transformation and change, often accompanied by cultural resistance and conflict, which helps deepen our understanding of its content.
The goal of the lecture is to present these authors — whom students encounter in their school programs — from a new and engaging perspective.
The lecture concludes with an interactive segment, giving students the opportunity to share their own viewpoints. The idea behind "Georgian Poetry Revisited" is to inspire a renewed journey through Georgian poetry, helping uncover new layers of language beyond the surface.
As a result of the lecture series, a collaborative piece will be created by students from different schools together with Erekle Deisadze.
