'Forest Dream' at the Botanical Garden and Public School № 150

= More info =

Artist Nino Davadze, a winner of the Tbilisi Public Art Fund's open call 'Metro Rustaveli: Escalator' with her piece 'Forest Dream', conducted workshops for students of the 150th public school. Her work integrates sounds from nature, such as forests, protected areas, birds, and insects. Davadze developed an educational program centered on listening to and collecting various sound recordings. The program was held at the 150th Tbilisi Public School and the Tbilisi Botanical Garden for elementary school students.

Through these workshops, students learned about Davadze's artistic practice and had the opportunity to explore her creative methods. Collaborating with the school’s music teacher and the artist, students discussed their daily listening experiences, emotional responses to different sounds, and the contrasts between urban and natural sounds. The practical aspect of the workshops took place in the Botanical Garden, where students used recording equipment to capture sounds throughout the day. They later returned to school to create a composition using their field notes.

The workshops not only provided interesting experiences and tested specific creative and technical practices but also fostered new connections and collaborative work between the artist, school teachers, and students.
