As part of the winning project ‘Ketuta Alexi Meskhishvili, Georgian Ornament’ from the Tbilisi Public Art Fund's open call ‘Promotion of Temporary Projects in Public Spaces, Tbilisi, Metro 300 Aragveli, Upper Vestibule’, a photography workshop was held for elementary students from Public Schools №86 and № 87. The workshop targeted these schools because their students frequently see the photo series displayed in the upper vestibule of Metro 300 Aragveli, located in the Isani district.
Photographer Ana Patladze designed the program for children with a focus on method rather than theme. Since the program was aimed at the basic level, the initial part covered optical, philosophical, and technical aspects of vision. It also revisited art history and theory learned in class, connecting it to photography. The author's professional and pedagogical experience, along with the program's structure, managed to cover a broad topic through practical examples, sparking the students' interest and curiosity. The installation of a camera obscura in the room transformed theoretical discussions into a sensory experience, inspiring the students' practical work.
