Gldani Public School no 71
As part of the project ‘Nato Bagrationi, Flowers are for All’, a winning entry in the Tbilisi Public Art Fund's open call ‘Promotion of Temporary Projects in Public Space, Tbilisi, A. Gobronidze 1’, a series of entertainment and educational lessons were conducted with artist Nato Bagrationi.
The program aimed to introduce the artist's work to the school community of the Gldani district through creative and interpretive activities while incorporating non-formal education methods into elementary-level art classes.
Inspired by the project's title, the focus was on plants—indoor flowers, balcony plants, and greenery in yards and sidewalks—and the experiences of interacting with them through various exercises. Emphasis was placed on flowers, which can provide a refuge for city walkers. The final and largest part of the meeting was dedicated to practical work, where the artist and elementary school students collaboratively created different gardens using mixed materials.
The school's visual arts teacher also attended the sessions. In addition to working with students, discussing the program with teachers was especially valuable, allowing for the exchange of opinions, evaluations, and experiences.
